ADA Bio Rio G is a premium sintered glass biological filter media designed to support efficient and stable biological filtration in freshwater aquariums and planted aquascapes. Its highly porous structure provides a large surface area where beneficial filtration microorganisms can settle and establish, supporting the biological filtration process.
The media features irregularly shaped pieces that naturally create spaces between the granules when placed inside a filter. This helps maintain water flow and makes Bio Rio G less prone to clogging compared with tightly packed filter media. ADA also states that Bio Rio G is unlikely to significantly affect aquarium pH or water hardness, making it suitable for long-term filtration.
ADA Bio Rio G is particularly suitable for external/canister filtration systems, including ADA Super Jet Filter systems. For best use, lightly rinse the media before installation to remove surface dust, and use a suitable media net where required.
