The Cherry Barb Fish (Puntius titteya) is a colorful, peaceful freshwater aquarium fish that is popular among beginners and experienced aquarists. Known for its attractive cherry-red coloration, active swimming behavior, and peaceful temperament, this small schooling fish can add natural color and movement to community aquariums. Cherry Barbs are generally easy to care for and adapt well to a properly maintained freshwater aquarium. Males typically develop a deeper red coloration, especially when they are comfortable and in good condition, while females are usually more subdued in color.

For the best results, keep Cherry Barbs in a group and provide plenty of swimming space along with plants, rocks, driftwood, or other aquarium decorations. Their peaceful nature makes them suitable for many community aquarium setups when kept with compatible tank mates.
